Medieval King

I have also continued to paint my Swedish Crusaders, This time the Swedish King to lead his Crusade with his Hird and some casualties in the front.

I wanted the king to look a bit like St Olof so I gave him a big axe like St Olaf are depicted on several church paintings here in Sweden.

  1. Great figures,I particularly like St Olof. One of my memories of visiting denmark was the beautiful wall paintings on white walled churches. Your picture reminds me of them.

  12. Very impressive. The colours are really vibrant and the flag is fantastic. With that giant axe, your king doesn't need a royal executioner!
